RNAi

RNA interference is a useful mechanism in the study of gene function. Utilizing both siRNA and miRNA pathways for gene knockdown studies, scientists can understand the physiological role of a gene in greater detail. RNAi screening experiments require techniques that eliminate any chance for cross contamination, while reducing operating costs of by using less sample and reagents. The Echo liquid handler is perfectly suited for these studies, providing sample volumes as low as 2.5 nL without contact with the samples and therefore no chance of contamination. Scientists can also create assay-ready plates, by transferring and drying down library plates and storing for later experiments. When combined with the Access workstation or POD automation platform, screening tens to thousands of gene knockdown pathways in a walk-up and walk-away solution provides more time for experimental planning and data analysis.

Benefits:

  • Precision, touch-less liquid handling provides consistently superior data results without cross contamination
  • Flexibly experiment with a range of destination formats from 96-, 384- and 1536-well microplates to chips or arrays.
  • Fully automated systems provide walk-away power that meets any throughput requirements siRNA screens
  • Purchase commerically available Dharmacon or QIAGEN libraries in Labcyte source plates, enable miniaturized siRNA screens without manual intervention
